The Jordan Seismological Observatory recorded Saturday recorded an earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale, which struck south of Turkey's Mediterranean coastal resort of Alanya.
It said the tremor occurred at 14:44 pm Amman local time, 12:44 GMT.
The observatory, which was established in 1983 and is located at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, includes 20 telemetric seismic stations and 25 strong motion seismic stations operating around the clock to monitor local, regional and global seismic activity.
