Relatively cold and partly cloudy weather is expected to prevail with a chance of scattered rain in various parts of the Kingdom, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its forecast for Wednesday.
The rainfall is forecast to be heavy in the early morning hours in the eastern and southeastern regions, accompanied by lightning, thunder and hail at times, causing floods in valleys and low-lying areas, the JMD added, noting that clouds will gradually decrease at night and the weather will start to stabilize.
The weather department also predicted fog formation in the late night hours over highlands and the Badia regions, while winds will be variable light.
On Thursday, the weather will be fair nationwide with clouds at various altitudes and southeasterly moderate to brisk winds.
Similar moderate conditions will remain on Friday with a chance of spotty showers in various areas of the country, the JMD noted.
In Amman today, mercury will hover around 17 Celsius degrees to 8C, while the Gulf of Aqaba will see a fair 26C, slipping into 15C during night hours.
