Truckers need to conduct Covid-19 test to enter borders
AMMONNEWS - Director General of the Land Transport Regulatory Authority (LTRA), Salah Lowzi, said truck drivers coming to the Omari Border Crossing should wait upon their arrival the announcement of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test results.
In a press statement to 'Petra,' on Wednesday, he said truck drivers infected with the virus will pledge to undergo a 10-day home quarantine, followed by a 3-day additional isolation period, in the event that no symptoms appear, adding a PCR test on day 13 is also needed to ensure their recovery.
The isolation will end 14 days after testing negative, or later if the disease's symptoms persist, according to the risk matrix issued by the Ministry of Health, he noted.
Truck drivers, who are not infected with coronavirus, will pledge to undergo a week home quarantine, he noted, stressing the need to conduct a PCR test for all truckers 5 days before their arrival at the border.
