Safadi underlines need for political solution accepted by Syrians
AMMONNEWS - Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, on Thursday, stressed the importance of the success of the Syrian Constitutional Committee meetings as an important step to reach a political solution that ends the Syria crisis.
Addressing the Small Group on Syria Committee meeting via video-conference, Safadi highlighted the need to intensify efforts aiming at reaching a political solution that safeguards Syria's unity, ends the presence of any foreign troops, and allows voluntary return of refugees.
Safadi affirmed the Kingdom's support for the efforts of the UN Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen and his endeavors to resume the meetings of the Constitutional Committee and to push for progress in the political process in Syria.
He also stressed the need to provide the necessary humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of the Syrians in their regions that need such aid, especially southern Syria, in a way that serves the stabilization of Syria.
