10 imported Covid-19 cases recorded in Jordan on Sunday
AMMONNEWS - The Ministry of Health announced 10 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Sunday, all imported, bringing the total caseload since the start of the pandemic to 1121.
Among the new infections, 7 cases belong to Jordanians arriving from abroad, who are currently staying at the quarantine hotels-1 from Saudi Arabia, and 6 from Egypt, according to the a joint media statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.
The other 3 cases belong to truck drivers coming across Al- Omari Border crossing , including 2 Jordanians, and 1 to a non-Jordanian nationality, who was dealt with according to the protocol in place, added the government statement.
Meanwhile, 19 patients have left Prince Hamzah Hospital after recovering.
Also on Sunday, 5148 Covid-19 tests were carried out, bringing the total number of test conducted since the start of the pandemic 374708, announced the statement.
To curb the virus spread, the Ministry of Health stressed the need to adhere to the preventive measures, wear masks, and observe physical distancing rules, especially in light of continued expansion of resuming operations across sectors.
'The risk of the pandemic still persists despite the in the number of Covid-19 cases at the local level,' warned the ministry.
Moreover, the ministry stressed the importance of using the AMAN App, a mobile application that notifies users if they happened to be in the vicinity of a diagnosed coronavirus patient.
In case an app user received an online alert for contacting an infected person, he/she should urgently visit the specialized clinics to test for Covid-19, according to the ministry.
