Jordanian tourists arriving in Azerbaijan increase by 20% last year
AMMONNEWS - The number of Jordanian tourists arriving in Azerbaijan during 2019 rose by 20 percent, according to Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Ramiz Hasanov.
In a meeting with a Jordanian media delegation currently visiting Azerbaijan to cover the country's legislative elections, Hasanov stressed the strong relations between the two countries in various fields, as the two sides are interested in developing economic, investment, trade and tourism cooperation in light of the existing high-level political ties.
'The recent visit of His Majesty King Abdullah II to Azerbaijan contributed to developing relations between the two countries, as it was agreed to expand cooperation in the fields of economy, investment, tourism, agriculture and defense, in addition to coordination on issues of common concern,' he added.
The Azerbaijani official stated his country's appreciation for Jordan's stances in the international organizations, mainly the United Nations and the Organization of the Islamic Conference, setting forth that Azerbaijan condemns all forms of terrorism, supports the efforts of the international community in combating it, and contributes greatly in this field.
He also expressed hope that all disputes in the Middle East would be resolved in a fair and proper manner, based on the rules and principles of international law and within a short period of time.
