US grants Jordan $745 million in support of economic opportunities
AMMONNEWS - The Jordanian government has signed an agreement to transfer a direct cash support grant of $745 million to Jordan from the US.
The agreement was signed by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Wissam Al-Rabadi, and the USAID Director Jim Barnhart, at the Prime Ministery's building.
The agreement will help the Jordanian government expand economic opportunities and raise the quality of services provided to Jordanians.
'We are working to accelerate economic growth to opportunities on a large scale, and we are working together to develop good governance, to enhance the transparency and efficiency of the public sector, and to increase access to health care, education and water,' Barnhart said.
He added, 'We are proud of the partnership between Jordan and the US to enhance our mutual prosperity and look forward with optimism to a future full of close cooperation.'
