Flood-stricken families in Jordan Valley to receive emergency aid
AMMONNEWS - National Aid Fund Director General Omar Mashaqbeh on Saturday announced emergency assistance to families in the northern Jordan Valley whose homes were damaged by flash floods that hit the area yesterday.
Mashaqbeh pointed to contingency plans that the fund had carried out in the field to deal with emergencies during the winter, noting that the damage in such circumstances is assessed to help the families affected and meet their needs.
He said the fund is keen to be the first government agency to offer aid to families that are forced in such situations to vacate their homes, urging the fund's branches to respond promptly and stand with the families affected by the harsh weather conditions.
The fund's chief asked its staff across the Kingdom to carry out their role at all times and not to wait, stressing that coming to the aid of needy families is the fund's top priority.
