US Embassy assistance to Jordan is consistent with last year’s assistance
AMMONNEWS - “This year’s assistance to Jordan is consistent with last year’s assistance. The Jordanian and U.S. governments are finalizing the details of the 2019 cash transfer. This is part of the United States’ rock-solid commitment to Jordan, as shown in the February 2018 memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the United States and Jordan, which promised a minimum of $1.275 billion per year in bilateral foreign assistance over a five-year period for a total of $6.375 billion.”
“For nearly seven decades, the United States and Jordan have worked side-by-side to improve economic and regional stability, strengthen democratic governance, and deliver essential services to the people of this country.”
Of the funds appropriated by this Act under titles III and IV, not less than $1,525,000,000 shall be made available for assistance for Jordan, of which: not less than $1,082,400,000 shall be made available under the heading Economic Support Fund, of which not less than $745,100,000 shall be made available for budget support for the Government of Jordan; and not less than $425,000,000 shall be made available under the heading Foreign Military Financing Program.
