King urges youth to work seriously, transparently, and without hesitation
AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday urged young Jordanians to work hard and to engage positively in decision-making.
At a meeting attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II at Al Husseiniya Palace with youth from Karak Governorate, King Abdullah said young Jordanians are the nation’s soldiers working to better the conditions of Jordan’s cities and villages.
After listening to the young attendees’ ideas and initiatives, His Majesty expressed pride in their creativity, noting that implementing these ideas requires working seriously, transparently, and without hesitation.
The King said meeting with young Jordanians gives him a sense of positivity, commending their energy and seriousness.
His Majesty listened to the young attendees’ ideas and suggestions for development, stressing the need to hold frequent meetings to evaluate the progress of proposed ideas.
The King called for overcoming challenges to turn ideas into projects on the ground to become success stories that encourage other young Jordanians to work harder and achieve more.
Commenting on the issue of wasta (nepotism), His Majesty noted young people’s key role in combating this phenomenon, voicing hope in the new generation.
The King also stressed youth’s role in decentralisation and the need for their engagement in amending its law.
Monday’s meeting came after His Majesty’s recent visit to Karak, where youth shared their proposals for development and the King stressed the need to meet with them again and discuss their ideas.
Speaking at the meeting, attended by Karak Governorate Council President Sayel Majali, the young attendees presented initiatives to improve development in Karak while enhancing economic conditions, political engagement, and volunteerism.
They commended His Majesty’s support for young people and their ideas, as well as youth’s greater engagement in decision-making, and stressed the importance of public-private partnerships to enable young people to turn their ideas into job-creating projects.
The young Jordanians highlighted investment opportunities in Karak, and the potential to enhance the tourism sector in the governorate, calling for capitalising on this potential to enhance local communities’ living conditions and job opportunities.
