AMMONNEWS - Minister of Planning and International Cooperation and Minister of State for Economic Affairs, Dr. Mohamad Al-Ississ, met on Wednesday with a delegation representing advisors and assistants to the US Congress members currently visiting the Kingdom.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Ississ reviewed the current and future priorities and areas of development cooperation between the Jordanian and American governments.
The minister briefed the delegation on the most recent economic reforms implemented by the Jordanian government that would promote growth, jobs, and improve public services.
The minister affirmed the 'distinguished and historic' relations between the two countries at all levels, and their strategic partnership, and the continuous efforts exerted by His Majesty King Abdullah II to strengthen joint cooperation, where US support has a clear impact on Jordan's reform and its development process in the various sectors.
Discussing Washington's aid, the minister expressed Jordan's thanks to the US government for the continuous support provided to the Kingdom and the 'close, serious' steps taken to provide additional support and assistance to the Kingdom over the past years, especially in light of the burdens shouldered by Jordan due to the regional turmoil and the Syrian refugee crisis on behalf of the international community.
For their part, the delegation's members praised Jordan's pivotal role and the comprehensive reform, modernization and development programs led by His Majesty King Abdullah II in the Kingdom, which made Jordan a model in the region.
