Tarawneh : Health Ministry has responsibility to protect its doctors
AMMONNEWS - Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh said Saturday that attacks on doctors in public hospitals continue to haunt all of the society, calling for more protection of such 'humanitarian professions'.
He spoke after a female doctor was physically assaulted by a relative of a patient in a government hospital in Amman after which she was admitted to the hospital with facial injuries.
Tarawneh commended on Twitter that attacks targeting doctors are alarming and that firm action is needed to deter these bahaviours that are 'alien to our traditions.'
He said that providing safety to doctors is an equal responsibility by the health ministry to that of supplying the hospitals' emergency wards with all the necessary cadres and equipment.
