PM endorses creation of gov't team on media education
AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Omar Razzaz has endorsed the formation of a government task force, headed by State Minister for Media Affairs and government spokesperson Jumana Ghneimat, to follow up on a national media and IT education project it had pledged to adopt as a top 2019-2020 agenda item.
Ghneimat told Petra in an interview Saturday that a national team will be created from the government task force that will include civil society organisations, universities and schools, such as Jordan Media Institute, as well as the UNESCO office in Amman for its expertise in this domain.
The government has pledged to adopt a national strategic framework to spread media and information technology education in its 2019-2020 priorities to promote the principle of national culture and effective citizenship in view of the widespread use of social networks and digital media among the citizens.
