AMMONNEWS - A slight rise in temperatures is expected Thursday, but the weather will stay cold in most regions and pleasant in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and Aqaba, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.
An abundance of high and medium clouds are also expected at night bringing cloudy to partly cloudy skies with a chance for scattered showers in the northern and eastern parts of the country, the JMD added.
Daytime temperatures expected for today in Amman will reach 16 degrees Celsius, 17 in the northern cities and 15 in the southern cities, dropping down at night to 10, 11, 7 respectively . The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 27 degrees Celsius and lows standing at 16, the JMD explained.
On Friday, temperatures are expected to slightly over the next two days, so the weather will be cold with clouds at different altitudes and scattered showers nationwide, including Aqaba. Rainfall will become heavier at night accompanied by thunder and hail and forming floods in the valleys and low lands.
Winds will be southwesterly moderate picking up at times and stirring dust in the desert, the JMD further added.
