Sunny, warm conditions forecast Saturday, two cold days ahead
AMMONNEWS - Pleasant, warm and sunny conditions are forecast to prevail Saturday across the country with clouds at high and medium altitudes, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) daily brief said.
Scattered showers accompanied with thunder are also expected in some areas, while winds will be southwesterly to northwesterly moderate to brisk at times, the JMD added.
Maximum temperatures expected for today in Amman and the northern cities will hover around 20 degrees Celsius dropping down to 8 at night, while they will reach 17 in the southern governorates sliding to 5 at night. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 27 and lows standing at 15, the JMD added.
Temperatures will few degrees on Sunday, but similar conditions will continue in many parts of the country with light scattered showers in different parts of the Kingdom, it further added.
Heavier rain with thunder and hail are expected to start Sunday evening across many parts, which might form floods in valleys and low lands, while winds will be northwesterly moderate to brisk, stirring dust in the desert areas, the JMD said.
Mercury levels will tangibly on Monday, becoming 5-6 degrees below average and creating cold and cloudy skies with rainfall across many parts. Rain will turn heavier, at night,with hails which might form floods in the low lands.
