AMMONNEWS - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Hala Zawati Tuesday said the government will not levy further taxes on fuel derivatives and will ensure that the citizens will not incur more costs.
She said in a statement that the government's proposal to replace the current fuel tax regime with a fixed tax rate does not mean increased fuel prices, but on the contrary, this would protect citizens form hiked costs when international oil prices rise.
The minister said the government's shift to the fixed tax rate is not 'collection' of money, but is a practical arrangement.
