AMMONNEWS - A slight in temperatures is expected Wednesday and Thursday, bringing relatively cold weather with partly cloudy skies and a chance for scattered showers at times, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.
Rainfall is expected to be heavy at times, accompanied by thunder and causing flash floods in low lying areas and valleys, with westerly moderate to brisk winds, the JMD said.
Daytime temperatures expected for today will reach 19 degrees Celsius in Amman and 18 in the northern cities, dropping at night to 10 degrees in both areas. Temperatures will range between a high of 17 and a low of 8 in the southern parts of the country, while mercury levels in the Gulf of Aqaba will register 26 during daytime, sliding to 18 at night, the JMD said.
Similar relatively cold and cloudy weather will continue to prevail Friday in many parts of the Kingdom, while it will be cloudy and rainy in the northern and central regions at times. Heavy rainfall is also expected at mainly in the northern areas, while winds will be westerly moderate to brisk at times.
The weather will gradually stabilize as of Friday night, chances of rain will also decrease, but with expected fog formation is still expected at night in the hilly over the hilly areas, parts of the Badia regions and plains, the JMD said.
