Jordan participates in "Mini-Group for Syria" meeting
AMMONNEWS - Jordan participated in the meeting of the mini-group for Syria, kicked off Monday evening in London, along with Egypt, France, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Britain and the United States.
The UN Special Envoy to Syria, Stephane de Mistura, who hosted the consolations, described the meeting as a useful interaction based on seriousness and urgency of moving ahead with the Syrian constitutional committee.
The Special Envoy told the participants he has also met in London with the General Coordinator of the Syrian Negotiation Commission, Nasr Hariri .
He added he is looking forward to hosting another meeting shortly with senior officials of the Astana guarantors Iran, the Russian Federation and Turkey, within the context of the Geneva process consultations.
De Mistura, who has been conducting extensive consultations on the early establishment of a constitutional committee, was also present at a summit meeting held two days earlier in Istanbul, hosted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and included Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and President of France Emmanuel Macron .
