AMMONNEWS - President and board members of the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) discussed with Turkish Ambassador to Jordan Murat Karagoz, means of forging closer cooperation between the two countries in the trade, services and tourism fields.
ACC President Issa Murad praised the strong ties between Jordan and Turkey which have been progressively developing thanks to the leadership of both countries.
He stressed the keenness of the Jordanian private sector to promote relations with Turkey to achieve the common interest of both countries.
In this context, Murad stressed the need to focus on boosting trade ties through exporting Jordanian phosphate to Turkey, promoting tourism in both countries and increasing Turkish investments in the Kingdom.
The ACC president pointed to the negative impact of suspending the free trade agreement with Turkey, especially that many Jordanian traders and business owners establish their businesses based on the agreement.
The ambassador said the Turkish embassy will convey proposals that have been made to boost economic ties to Turkish authorities. He also voiced hope to reach a positive outcome about the possibility of exporting Jordanian phosphate to Turkey.
