FM: Jordan working for ceasefire in southern Syrian
AMMONNEWS - Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi on Saturday said that Jordan is 'moving in all directions' and with all parties to bring a ceasefire in southern Syrian and protect Syrian civilians.
In a tweet, the minister said Jordan's prime concern is to spare the Syrian brothers further suffering and deliver humanitarian assistance to them inside their homeland.
He further said: 'Helping the Syrians inside their homeland is something possible and is ongoing. Our efforts have not ceased to protect civilians. Who benefits from the displacement?!.' Safadi said: 'Jordan, since the outbreak of the crisis in Syria, has been serving as a gateway for aid and hundreds of convoys continued to move as they do now.' He added that 'displacement can be avoided by supporting the brothers inside Syria and we are working to solve a crisis made by others.' The United Nations recognizes that Jordan is doing everything it can to help the Syrian brothers and describes its role as a model, the minister noted.
