AMMONNEWS - Minister of Water and Irrigation Ali Al Ghezawi received Wednesday Iraqi Minister of Water Resources Hassan al-Janabi, who is visiting Jordan at the head of an Iraqi technical delegation upon an invitation form the Jordanian government.
During the meeting, which was attended by Iraqi Ambassador to the Kingdom Safia al-Suhail, and a number of Jordanian water officials, the two sides stressed the historical relations between the two countries in all fields.
The minister said Jordan is very interested in providing all expertise to the Iraqi side to develop infrastructure and water and sanitation services. 'The Jordanian government is working hard to develop joint cooperation in the areas that serve the citizens of both countries and enable the Iraqis to benefit from Jordanian water expertise,' he added.
The Minister reviewed the challenges and water conditions faced by Jordan, especially ??water shortage, low rainfall rates and the challenges arising from the Syrian refugee crisis, pointing out that despite these conditions, the distinguished water management has achieved great success.
The Iraqi minister stressed the interest of the Iraqi government to strengthen and develop relations between the two sides and benefit from Jordan's expertise in the water domain.
