Crown Prince inaugurates TechWorks innovation platform
AMMONNEWS - His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II opened on Monday opened TechWorks; the Crown Prince Foundation's flagship innovation platform to address the need for youth to access to the right tools, talent, resources, and institutions, and a level-playing field on which to compete.
Built as a national model of excellence; TechWorks is a public, society-based digital Fabrication Laboratory (FabLab) with the mission of bringing together youth, ideas, and resources to unleash the power of Jordan’s innovation ecosystem.
The Crown Prince stressed the importance of supporting and empowering young Jordanian innovators and the need to provide them with capacity-building programs as an essential pillar of economic development in Jordan.
Through creating a sustainable, highly integrated ecosystem that encompasses the entire innovation process – from discovery and ideation through to design, development and commercialization - TechWorks seeks to support young innovators on multiple levels, enabling them to design, engineer, and manufacture just about anything. It will also provide youth with access to capacity building programs focusing on employability, entrepreneurship and innovation.
