FM meets with U.S. House of Representatives delegation
AMMONNEWS - Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi received on Sunday a delegation from the U.S. House of Representative, led by Nancy Pelosi, head of the Democratic Party's Bloc.
The meeting discussed bilateral relations between Jordan and the U.S. and regional developments, especially those related to the Palestinian issue. They also tackled challenges to efforts to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict based on the two-state solution, as well as the Syrian crisis and the war on terror.
Safadi stressed Jordan-U.S. relations and thanked the U.S. for its support to the Kingdom, especially economic support, which was framed in a memorandum of understanding that will guarantee at least $1.275 billion annually for five years.
Pelosi underlined His Majesty the King's role and efforts to establish peace, security and stability and combat terrorism, stressing the need for continued support to Jordan as a strategic partner.
