Energy Ministry: Well 28 of the Risha Gas Field is economically feasible
AMMONNEWS - Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said that reproduction from field 28 of the Risha Gas Filed is economically feasible as it is possible to boost gas production from 9 million cubic feet per day to 16.5 million cubic feet by the end of 2018.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Al-Kharabsheh said that the production process from well 28 comes within the 2017-2019 plan implemented by the ministry and the National Petroleum Company (NPC) to double the field's productivity by the end of 2019, noting that productivity currently stands at 9 million cubic feet.
The minister made the remarks as he visited along with head and members of the Senate's Energy Committee and board chairman of NPC, the Risha Gas Field near Al Karamah border crossing with Iraq.
On the JD12-million plan to develop the Risha Field, Kharabsheh said it aims at doubling production to achieve self-reliance by increasing local energy resources, ensuring energy security and supporting development efforts.
