AMMONNEWS - The General Federation of Jordanian Trade Unions (GFJTU) started issuing free work permits to migrant workers as well as Syrian refugees in order to regulate this sector and protect job opportunities for Jordanians especially in professions closed for guest labor.
The federation's president Mazen Ma'aytah told Petra that the federation agreed with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the labor Ministry to issues work permits to job opportunities for Jordanians and prevent non-Jordanians from working in profession closed for guest labor.
The refugees will also be allowed to work in the construction and agricultural sectors as Jordanian workers usually refrain from working in these sectors.
