Jordan cancels wheat tender, expected to try again next week
AMMONNEWS - Jordan's state grain buyer cancelled an international tender to buy 100,000 tonnes of milling wheat which closed on Tuesday after only receiving one offer, European traders said.
A new tender is expected to be issued, this time closing on Thursday, June 29, they said.
Jordan has struggled to make purchases in a series of wheat tenders in recent months, with traders saying uncertainty about new quality controls and payment terms has reduced participation by major grain exporting houses.
