AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Hani Al Mulki on Thursday, chaired a meeting at the Prime Ministry for the government's economic team.
The government's team agreed to pay field visits over the next two weeks to promising sectors deemed as an engine for the national economy.
The team, headed by the prime minister, will visit companies and corporations that play a key role in economic development, that have a major impact on GDP, and are directly connected to the mining and transformational industries that job opportunities.
The visits will also include the tourism services sector, the Royal Jordanian, the potash and phosphate companies and the National Electric Power Company.
Al Mulki said that the field visits aims to check on accomplishments of these companies and corporations last year, their future plans in the fields of production and investments, and their needs of government facilities to enable them to achieve their objectives in line with the government's economic programs and plans.
During today's meeting, the government team discussed issues pertaining to smuggling from free development zones and affirmed the importance of preventing smuggling as it has a negative effect on the national economy.
