AMMONNEWS - The Senate approved a number of draft laws during its session on Thursday that was chaired by its president Faisal Al Fayez and attended by Prime Minister Hani Mulki.
Al Fayez voiced the Senate's rejection of the Israeli Knesset's approval of a preliminary reading for a bill to ban the use of speakers to call for prayer in mosques in occupied East Jerusalem.
The bill, he said, reflects the racism of Israel and violates all international charters, urging the international community to pressure Israel to end all its provocative actions and return to the negotiating table.
Al Fayez affirmed the Senate's support to Jordan's supportive stance to the Palestinian people and their just cause, as well as to efforts being exerted by His Majesty King Abdullah II to protect the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
During the session, the Senate referred the 2016 Tourism Law to the Lower House of Parliament after making a number of amendments.
The Senate also approved the 2017 Consumer Protection Law, the amended 2017 Crown Prince Foundation Law, the 2014 National Documents Law, the amended 2016 Higher Health Council and the 2015 Environment Protection Law.
