AMMONNEWS - The government's oil pricing committee Tuesday kept the prices of fuel derivatives unchanged for the month of March despite a slight rise in the global market, it said in a statement.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade committee, which sets prices on monthly basis according to oil price fluctuations in the global market, said it fixed prices despite a 1 per cent rise in the international markets in February. It said benchmark Brent crude oil rose to $55.16 a barrel in March from an average $53.5 in January.
The statement pointed to rising demand at global petroleum markets, prompting varying price hikes.
According to the decision, the price of 90-octane gasoline will remain at JD0.665 per litre, 95-octane gas at JD0.880 and kerosene or diesel at JD0.48 per litre, while a cooking gas cylinder will continue to be sold at JD7.00.
