Gov't: Israel's settlement construction total disrespect of int'l law
AMMONNEWS - The Jordanian government on Tuesday condemned Israel's continued settlement construction policy labelling it as a total disrespect of humanitarian law and a flagrant violation of the Palestinian people's rights.
State Minister for Media Affairs and Government Spokesman, Muhammad al-Momani, said Israel's settlement construction policy systematically undermines peace prospects in the region and deals a major blow to efforts aimed at reviving the peace process.
The minister urged world powers and the international community to pressure Israel into halting its settlement drive, to work for the resumption of the peace talks, and to push for the two-state solution, which, the minister said, is the only viable solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
