Rise in temperatures forecast Tuesday, depression begins Thursday
AMMONNEWS - A slight rise in temperatures is forecast on Tuesday, but it will remain relatively cold in the hilly areas and the desert regions, while it will be relatively warm in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea.
According to Jordan Meteorological Department(JMD) daily brief, winds will be southeasterly moderate picking up in the afternoon and blowing dust in the southern and eastern parts of the Kingdom. Frost formation is also expected in the hilly areas after midnight.
Daytime temperatures expected in Amman and the southern areas will reach 16 degrees Celsius dropping to 6 in the capital and 3 in the southern governorates. Mercury levels in the Gulf of Aqaba will register a high of 23 degrees and a low of 15 at night, it said.
A further rise in temperatures is also forecast on Wednesday to become 7-8 degrees above their annual average, bringing relatively warm conditions across the country. Winds will be southwesterly moderate to brisk with clouds at various altitudes and a chance of scattered showers in different parts of the country.
A tangible in temperatures is forecast on Thursday, returning back to its annual average and bringing partly cloudy skies with a chance of light showers in different parts of the country. As of midnight, a cold air mass is expected to affect the Kingdom, creating cold and partly cloudy conditions with heavy rain across the Kingdom, the JMD said.
