Cold conditions forecast Monday, rise in temperatures over next two days
AMMONNEWS - Relatively cold conditions are expected to continue Monday in the hilly areas, the Badia regions and the eastern plains, while it will be relatively warm in the Jordan Valley, and the Dead Sea.
According to Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), southeasterly moderate winds are also forecast with clouds at various altitudes and frost formation after midnight in the hilly areas and parts of the desert regions.
Temperatures expected for today in Amman will range between a high of 14 degrees Celsius and a low of 5, in southern parts they will register 13 degrees during daytime, dipping to zero degree at night. Mercury levels in the Gulf of Aqaba will reach 22 degrees, going down to 11 at night, the JMD added.
Temperatures will slightly rise on Tuesday, but similar cold conditions are expected to remain across the country with high altitude clouds and southeasterly moderate to brisk winds blowing dust in the southern and eastern parts, it added.
A further rise in temperatures is also expected on Wednesday to become 6-7degrees above their annual average. Therefore pleasant conditions will prevail in the hilly areas, the desert regions and eastern plains, while it will be warm in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. Scattered showers are also forecast in different parts of the Kingdom with southeasterly moderate winds turning to southwesterly brisk stirring dust at times, the JMD added.
