AMMONNEWS - Anti-Narcotics officers seized a total of 265,000 of narcotic drugs and 9 KG of synthetic cannabis powder, the agency said in a statement on Wednesday.
It said agents had been tracking suspected drug dealers' movements for weeks to locate where they stored the contraband.
A number of houses were used to hide the substances, said the statement, adding that 9 suspects were apprehended during a raid on their hideouts. Searching the hiding places, sleuths found 265,000 narcotic capsules, as well as a firearm.
In a separate incident in Amman, an anti-Narcotics team swooped on 5 suspects who were caught red-handed delivering 9 KG of synthetic cannabis, locally known as 'joker.' All the suspects were being investigated and will be referred to judicial authorities, added the statement.
