Cold front forecast to bring rain, light snow, hail till Thursday
AMMONNEWS - Rainfall is expected over the next three days as a cold front accompanying a depression centered over Cyprus is forecast to start affecting the Kingdom on Tuesday, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).
On Tuesday night, the JMD said it will be cold with cloudy skies and heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightening mainly in the central and northern parts of the country. Gusty winds stirring dust in the southern and eastern parts of the country with speeds reaching 60-70 kilometers per hour are also forecast .
Temperatures will further on Wednesday and Thursday, but it will remain relatively cold across the Kingdom with heavy rain accompanied with thunder and lightening and hail at times. By nighttime, colder polar winds are expected to blow with snowfall on areas 1000m above sea level and higher, the JMD said.
Daytime temperatures expected in Amman for today will range between a high of 13 degrees Celsius and a low of 6 degrees at night, wile mercury levels in the Gulf of Aqaba will register 22degrees dropping down to 10 at night, the JMD added.
