PM presents government policy statement to Lower House seeking vote of confidence
AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Hani Mulki said that the government has a comprehensive program to address internal and external challenges, and enhance security and stability, the democratic march, the aspired political reforms as well as economic development based on justice, integrity and transparency.
Mulki added in the policy statement he presented to the Lower House of Parliament on Wednesday to seek a vote of confidence, that the program is based on the higher national interests as a main factor defining all policies and decisions in cooperation and partnership with the Lower House of Parliament to achieve the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II to serve citizens.
He said that the next stage is on of work and achievements, and is not devoted to putting in place more plans and strategies.
The prime minister said that the Royal discussion papers are of great value for Jordan, and reflect the mature historical Hashemite approach as well as respect of the Hashemite leadership to the national awareness, noting that the government will take it as an approach to enhance comprehensive reforms.
The government, he said hopes that Jordan's hosting of the upcoming Arab summit, will contribute to activating joint Arab action.
On the Palestinian issue, Mulki said that Jordan is the closest to the Palestinians, their just cause and their suffering, adding that the Kingdom has always proved its support to the Palestinian issue.
'We will continue to shoulder our responsibilities and confront all unacceptable and rejected actions carried out by the Israeli occupation authorities against our Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied East Jerusalem,' the prime minister added.
On terrorism, the premier said that the government will continue efforts to enhance security and stability, and counter terrorism and extremisms in Iraq, Yemen, Libya and other countries. 'The government will also work towards finding a political solution to the Syrian crisis as it is the only solution to this issue as His Majesty has always stressed.
Mulki pledged to provide full support to the armed forces and security agencies, adding that the government is fully aware of the challenges that face them, and the efforts they exert to defend the country and its citizens.
