King heads Jordan's delegation to UN General Assembly meetings
AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II, accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Rania, will begin a working visit to New York on Saturday, where His Majesty will head the Jordanian delegation at the 71st Ordinary Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
King Abdullah will deliver a speech before the UN General Assembly in the presence of a number of leaders, officials and heads of the participating delegations.
His Majesty will also attend the Leaders' Summit on Refugees that will be hosted by US President Barack Obama in New York alongside co-hosts Canada, Ethiopia, Germany, Jordan, Mexico and Sweden. The summit will appeal to governments to pledge significant new commitments on refugees.
The King will also meet on the sidelines of the visit with several world leaders, heads of participating delegations as well as economic leaders.
His Royal Highness Prince Faisal Bin Al Hussein was sworn in as regent in the presence of Cabinet members.
