King: "Jordan red line against terrorism, has no place for terrorists"
AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Sunday, said Jordan is a red line against terrorism and extremism and has no place for terrorists and expressed his confidence in the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army and security agencies and their ability in protecting the nation.
The King said the war on terrorism 'is our war in Jordan and the war of all Muslim and Arab countries against Khawarij...It's {the war on terror} not only in Syria and Iraq, it's in Libya, east and west of Africa and Asia, it's a global war.'
Speaking during a meeting with community leaders, officials and tribal leaders from the southern Karak governorate, His Majesty the King emphasized the need to combat extremist ideology through mosques and educational institutions.
Turning to domestic affairs, King Abdullah said the priority now is to address economic challenges, particularly poverty and unemployment across the Kingdom. The King also said work is underway with Iraqi authorities to reopen the Baghdad-Amman international highway during this year.
On Syria, His Majesty said Jordan is working to sustain the ceasefire south of Syria, renewing the call for a comprehensive political solution to the crisis in the Arab country.
