Queen Noor attends closing ceremony of Arab Youth Congress
AMMONNEWS - The 34th International Arab Youth Congress (IAYC) which was attended by 150 young people from 12 countries, concluded in Amman on Sunday.
Her Majesty Queen Noor Al Hussein, who attended the closing ceremony, expressed her pride in the Arab youth for their commitment to pluralism and gender equality.
Her Majesty tweeted ' very proud of our Arab youth commitment to pluralism and gender equality and reform' Participants set out a number of recommendations including promoting the importance pluralism and eliminating all forms of discrimination against women, in addition to enacting legislation to ensure full equality among both genders.
In their recommendations, which will be submitted by Her Majesty to the United Nations, the Arab League , UNICEF and other relevant authorities, participants called for preventing early marriage, and urged enactment of laws to stop it.
