EU condemns Israel for demolishes EU-funded shelters in Jerusalem
AMMONNEWS - The European Union condemned the Israeli occupation authorities for demolishing EU-financed shelters in occupied East Jerusalem.
The Union said in a statement on Tuesday 'we condemn today's demolition of temporary shelters funded by the European Union '. The statement added that the EU repeatedly called on the Israeli government to stop these demolition practices.
EU financial aid has helped to build some 200 temporary shelters in the West Bank, outside East Jerusalem, where Bedouin communities inhabited.
A spokeswoman for the Israel Nature and Parks Authority said that the structures were in a national park within the jurisdiction of the Jerusalem municipality, which had been informed of the violation and demolished the structures.
