Foreign minister holds talks with Arab League secretary
AMMONNEWS - Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, Nasser Judeh, on Sunday, discussed with Secretary-General of the Arab League, Nabil el-Araby, a number of Middle East issues, namely the Palestinian cause and peace efforts.
They stressed the need to resume peace negotiations to bring about an independent and sovereign Palestinian state on pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital and in accordance with relevant international terms of reference and the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative.
They also tackled the latest Israeli aggression on Gaza and voiced support to the Egypt-brokered cease fire. Judeh told a press conference that he discussed with the chief of the pan-Arab organization the continued Israeli violations against Muslim and Christian sanctities in Jerusalem and Jordan's efforts to stop such violations.
El-Araby said his visit to the Kingdom comes within coordination and consultation on various pan-Arab issues as some Arab countries are being hit by unrest and turmoil and this requires closer Arab solidarity.
