AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II held on Thursday evening talks with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud on ways to boost bilateral ties and the latest developments in the Middle East.
The two leaders expressed satisfaction with the advanced level of ties between the two kingdoms, stressing keenness to further cement these in various domains.
In this regard, King Abdullah thanked Saudi Arabia for its support to Jordan.
On Gaza, the two leaders stressed their support for efforts to end the Israeli aggression and put an end to the suffering of the Palestinian people.
King Abdullah called for more international efforts to relaunch peace talks that would address the final status issues and help the Palestinians restore their legitimate rights, at the top of which is the establishment of their independent state according to international legitimacy and Arab Peace Initiative.
The two leaders also discussed Syria, where King Abdullah II stressed the importance of finding a comprehensive political solution to the crisis, ending the suffering of the Syrian people and preserving the territorial unity of Syria.
On Iraq, His Majesty the King voiced Jordan’s support for all efforts being exerted to preserve the unity of the Arab nation, through a comprehensive political process, in which all segments of the Iraqi society take part.
The talks were attended by Royal Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Nasser Judeh, Director of King’s Office Imad Fakhouri, the King's Advisor Abdullah Wreikat, Army Chief General Meshal Al Zaben, and director of the General Intelligence Department General Faisal Al Shoubaki and the Jordanian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Jamal Shamayleh.
Talks were attended on the Saudi Side by members of the ruling family and senior Saudi officials.
