Judeh discusses Gaza developments with Egyptian, Swedish counterparts
AMMONNEWS - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Nasser Judeh on Monday discussed the latest developments in Gaza with his Egyptian and Swiss counterparts.
In a telephone conversation with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Fahmi, Judeh stressed the importance of ending the Israeli military operations in Gaza and withdrawing all boots on the grounds as well as reaching a ceasefire in the coastal enclave.
Meanwhile, Judeh received a phone call from Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt, during which they discussed the Israeli escalation in Gaza and the Israeli military targeting of civilians and children. The phone call also touched on the efforts to reach a ceasefire and end the Israeli offensive.
He also affirmed that the only solution that would prevent the recurrence of such aggressions is sitting down to the negotiation table to embark on direct peace talks. Such talks, he added, should lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
