FM discusses Israeli escalation with Egyptian , French counterparts
AMMONNEWS - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Nasser Judeh spoke with two foreign ministers on Saturday, to review the Israeli escalation in the Gaza Strip.
In a telephone conversation with French counterpart Laurent Fabius, Judeh reviewed efforts to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
During the call the two officials stressed the importance of reaching an agreement to end the Israeli aggression against civilians in Gaza and to support and carry out the Egyptian initiative for a ceasefire in the enclave.
Judeh reiterated Jordan's rejection of Israel's repeated aggression on civilians in Gaza, highlighting His Majesty King Abdullah's efforts to stop the aggression and the killing of civilians in Gaza.
Judeh also spoke over the phone with the Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri,reviewing the latest developments and efforts to stop the war in Gaza.
These contacts are part of Jordan's continuing daily efforts and coordination to stop Israeli military operations in the coastal enclave.
The minister stressed that the political solution and return to comprehensive and serious negotiation is the only approach to guarantee a halt to Israeli repeated aggression against Palestinians .
Judeh added that a political solution will lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the Palestinian national soil, on the lines of the fourth of June 1967,with East Jerusalem as its capital, and will preserve the dignity, independence and sovereignty of the Palestinian people on their land.
