Calling for volunteer stories from Jordanian youth
AMMONNEWS - The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme announces its Youth Volunteering Award in Jordan. The award aims to identify the most valuable stories and experiences of volunteer work and promote a positive image of volunteerism. This initiative is part of the regional project 'Arab Youth Volunteering for a Better Future,' which is being implemented in five countries: Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia, and Yemen.
The Youth Volunteering Award aims to recognize the efforts and achievements of young volunteers contribute to informing the public about the importance of volunteer work and ensure the contribution of volunteers aiming to achieve peace and development. Therefore, young Jordanians men and women volunteers between ages 18 and 29 are invited to share their experience in volunteer work, in written or video format.The winning stories will be published in a national brochure to highlight best practices and positive experiences from young volunteers in Jordan, focusing on the impact they have made on the development of their communities.
The award consists of two phases, first at the national level and then at the regional. A choice of three candidates will be selected in Jordan. Their stories will be published, and the three candidates will automatically participate in the regional competition. In addition, the national winners will be invited to participate in the celebration of the regional awards in one of the countries of the Arab region in December of 2014.
