Regent highlights strong ties between Jordan and Kuwait
AMMONNEWS - His Royal Highness Prince Faisal Bin Al Hussein, the Regent, met on Sunday with Advisor to the Emir of Kuwait and Representative of the UN Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs in Kuwait Abdullah Al Matouq and Minister for Social Affairs and Labour and Minister of State for Planning and Development Affairs Hind Al Subaih.
His Highness said that His Majesty King Abdullah II is keen to boost relations with Kuwait and expand the partnership in various fields. He also voiced pride in the level of relations between the two countries and peoples.
At the meeting, which focused on the latest developments in the region, mainly the repercussions of the crisis in Syria, the Regent pointed to the increasing burden being shouldered by Jordan as a result of hosting a large number of Syrian refugees and the pressure they place on the Kingdom's limited resources.
Prince Faisal also expressed Jordan's appreciation for Kuwait's continued support to the Kingdom in various fields, which enables it to address the challenges facing it, mainly in the economic field.
Al Matouq, on his part, voiced Kuwait's keenness to further enhance relations with Jordan and praised the role played by the Kingdom under the leadership of His Majesty in addressing the challenges facing the region, most notably the Syrian refugees.
Kuwait, he said, was ready to support Jordan in the development field, mainly in the northern regions that are hosting Syrian refugees, to ease the pressure they are facing.
