King visits Civil Defense Department, checks on its services
AMMONNEWS - King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, called on the Civil Defense Department (CDD) on Wednesday to check on services provided by the department in its area of specialization.
The King voiced pride in the advanced level the CDD has reached and in the professional and relentless efforts of the CDD personnel in performing their noble duties and safeguarding the country's achievements.
His Majesty stressed the importance of continuing the process of development and modernization of the CDD to enable it to provide better services to the citizens.
The King was briefed by the department's director, Lt. Gen. Talal Kofahi, on its achievements, training programs and future plans.
During the visit, His Majesty also checked out a special kind of ambulance designed by the CDD in cooperation with a national company.
The vehicle, which is equipped with modern medical and emergency equipment, carry 12 injured people at one time, and can be of immense use in case of a traffic accident involving multiple number of people.
