AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Tuesday stressed Jordan’s deep ties with Bahrain and said the country is keenly interested in further cementing cooperation in media and other fields.
He said during a meeting with visiting Bahraini information minister Samira Bin Rajab, attended by the minister of state for media affairs, Mohammad Momani, that His Majesty King Abdullah II and Bahraini monarch Hamad Bin Issa Al Khalifa are the driving forces behind the strong relations.
Ensour briefed the Bahraini minister on Jordan's comprehensive political and socio-economic reforms, noting that King Abdullah's clear vision had largely helped achieve real and deep reforms and enhance democracy, openness and freedoms.
He said Jordan is facing enormous challenges resulting from the exodus of Syrian refugees, in addition to waves of Palestinian refugees, whose cause has been forgotten by the world.
The prime minister said Jordan is barely the only stable Arab country in the Levant, beyond the Gulf Arab states, a status that requires supporting the Kingdom to maintain its stability and remain a bulwark against dangers posed to many Arab countries.
The Bahraini minister referred to the historic ties between the two kingdoms, noting Jordan's stand towards Bahrain and stressing that her country needs Arab support. She stressed the importance of fostering cooperation with Jordan, particularly in the field of media.
Rajab said Bahrain is determined to forge ahead with reforms and openness and bolster freedoms, adding that despite all the tough circumstances, Bahrain's policy had been to present 'the truth with utmost clarity.'
