AMMONNEWS - A total of 1944 Syrian refugees, of different ages including the wounded and sick , entered the Kingdom through various illegal border points during the past 72 hours.
The Directorate of Moral Guidance said in a statement on Sunday that border guards stationed along the 376-kilometre border between Jordan and Syria, are working hard to protect the borders.
The statement added that the border guards received the refugees and provided emergency aid to the injured.
The source added that the refugees were provided by first aid and were taken to shelters to be transferred then to Zaatari camp.
The number of Syrian refugees who crossed into the Kingdom since the beginning of the Syrian crisis in March 2011 has exceeded 600,000 including thousands of injured and sick.
