AMMONNEWS - King Abdullah II, on Tuesday, arrived back home after a trip that took him to the United States and Mexico where he held talks with the two countries’ leaders and top officials. The King held a summit with President Barack Obama, on ways to cement Jordanian-U.S. ties and a number of Middle East issues, mainly Syria and the Palestinian issue.
His Majesty the King also met with a number of U.S. administration officials, leaders of Congress committees, representatives of Arab, Muslim and Jewish American communities and of a number of international organizations.
The King discussed with U.S. Secretary of State, John Kerry, and Vice President Joe Biden ways to push peacemaking between the Palestinians and Israelis forward and find an end to the Syrian crisis.
King Abdullah also held meetings with Secretary of Defense, Chuck Hagel, and Secretary of Treasury, Jacob Lew, on various issues pertaining to Jordanian-U.S. relations and regional developments.
Jordan’s economic and financial reform drive was the main theme of meetings the King held with the chiefs of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
