Lawmakers criticise Upper House president over Social Security law
AMMONNEWS - A number of parliament members MPs on Wednesday criticized president of senates Abdelraouf Rawabdeh, over the Social Security law and the process of voting on the law during the joint session of the Lower House and the Senate.
Deputies, Khalil Attieh, Tamer Beino, Khamis Attieh, and Rudaina Otti demanded the Lower House not to accept any joint session with the Senate, until getting the interpretation of the Constitutional Court on Constitution articles 89 and 92 relating to the voting mechanism in the joint sessions.
MP Nidal Hiari said that the reason for not voting in favor on the security law is the absence of the House Representatives, calling on his colleagues to attend the joint sessions.
The lawmakers criticism came after a memorandum submitted by 13 parliamentary deputies, demanding interpretation from the Constitutional Court on articles 89 and 92 of the Constitution.
